Forth Valley LMC maintains a benevolent fund for the support of GPs and their families in times of hardship and distress.It also donates to other charities such as the Cameron Fund which have a similar purpose. The third purpose is to issue grants at the discretion of the trustees for the purposes of furthering and advancing medical education and research in the United Kingdom. This fund has been built up through the support of the majority of practices in Forth Valley. In the past there has been little claim on the fund but it has supported GPs and those close to them at times of illness and bereavement.
